“A Faithful Creator”

1 Peter 4:19 KJV

[19] “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”

We who are saved may suffer in this life, but we have the blessed assurance that we will never suffer in the world to come. The troubles and trials here are only for a season, but there is a better day coming for the child of God. Can you imagine living in a land where there is no suffering? Many children of God endured suffering in this life, but they are now at rest in the arms of their Creator. Life is so good on the other side that they would never want to return to earth or trade forever for a few more days down here. They would never leave a land of blessing to return to a sin-cursed world.

We have no idea what we will encounter in this life, but it will be worth it all when we see His face. We must stay faithful to Him because He has been so faithful to us. Peter declares Him to be a faithful Creator. This is a true statement seen throughout the Word of God.

When man sinned in the garden, our Creator did not cast him aside but faithfully made a way for Him to be saved. As we read the Old Testament, we see that despite the unfaithfulness of men, God has always been faithful. He faithfully kept His covenant and promises despite man’s failures. He never broke a promise to one individual in the Scriptures. We read in the New Testament how God was faithful to the apostles and the early church. His Son faithfully came into this world and gave His life to fulfill all of the promises in the Old Testament. When John the Revelator sees Him at the Second Coming, he declares Him to be Faithful and True.

Dear reader, we can rest in the faithfulness of our God. He has a perfect record of keeping His Word. We must stay faithful and remain in the fight during these last days. We must not waver or change course this close to the end. Suffering may come because of our stand for God, but it will be worth it. Others may forsake you and walk away, but He will stand by your side. You may be a pastor, missionary, evangelist, or lay worker, but the Devil may tempt you to become slack in your service or timid in your convictions. Do not listen to the tempter, but hold fast and march on for the glory of God in these last days. Remember that God will not forget your labor of love but will reward your faithfulness on Judgment Day. Others may not see what you are doing, but the One we serve sees it all!
