1 Peter 5:7 KJV
[7] “casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Whenever I read this verse, I think of an old song that says, “Someone to care, someone to share.” The Someone in that song is the Lord Jesus Christ. I am glad that we can cast all of our cares upon Him. It does not matter how big or small they may seem. He is always willing to shoulder our burdens.
Sometimes, we share our burdens with others, and it seems they are not listening. Other times, they do not have the words or wisdom to help us with the struggles we are dealing with. However, there is never a time when the Lord will not hear us and want to help us. He always has a listening ear regarding the things we are facing in life. He not only cares, but He always has the answers to our problems. This verse should drive us to our knees in prayer. The Bible does not say to cast some or most of our cares but all of our cares upon Him. We should tell the Lord everything. He is our dearest friend and desires to hear from us.
Think about the song, “If it matters to you, then it matters to the Master.” You may wonder why God would care about your everyday problems. The reason is in our verse. He cares about them because He cares about you! He loves you and wants to help you with your daily needs. Jesus taught in the model prayer to pray for our daily bread. If the Lord cares enough to put bread on your table each day, then you know He cares about everything else you face. Remember, He already knows your problems, and He already knows the answers. He wants you to bring them before Him and ask for His help.
This verse is a great thought to share with the lost world. So many people think no one cares about them. We must tell them that Jesus cares. He cares about their soul and wants to save them. He cares about their disappointments and wants to give them a better life. We must share the good news with the lost world that they do not have to walk in darkness. They do not have to go through this life alone. Jesus died for them, and He desires to change their lives if they will seek Him. The question is, how will they know to pursue Him if we do not show them the love of Christ? The Bible says charity never fails. It reveals to sinners that God wants them to cast all their care upon Him, and He will rescue them. Dear reader, seek out somebody today and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Show them that God cares for them.
